That’s why Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) has partnered with Agriculture In The Classroom Canada (AITC-C) to offer the DFC Here For Tomorrow Scholarship, powered by thinkAG. In 2022, the inaugural scholarship was awarded to two recipients: Julie Sieg and Sophia Yang.
Now, with her first semester under her belt, university student Julie reflects on the impact of the scholarship on her post-secondary journey.
Eyes opened to agri-food career opportunities
This scholarship aims to inspire Canadian youth to consider the impact they can have on sustainable agriculture by equipping them with the knowledge to think critically about sustainable food choices and career decisions. While the scholarship hopes to inspire students to consider a future in agri-food, it’s not a prerequisite to apply.
The DFC Here For Tomorrow Scholarship is fueled by thinkAG. thinkAG is AITC-C's Canada-wide initiative that provides resources and learning tools to help students in grades 5-12 envision fulfilling and fitting future careers for themselves in agriculture and food.
Canadian students in grades 10-12—Secondary 4-5 in Quebec—can start applying for the 2023 DFC Here For Tomorrow Scholarship on February 1, 2023. This year, five lucky recipients will each be awarded $3,000 to put toward their post-secondary education.
